The upfront cost of AFIT seems high, but I if you add up the cost of the instructor, renting the aircraft, and purchasing fuel, the overall cost is very close if not less than traditional flight training costs. My AFIT instructor met me there and we started my flight training in that aircraft. By day 4 it was clear that my flying was looking check ride ready. But whats amazing, is his confidence through the whole thing kept me pushing and trusting and by checkride day I had no doubt, when halfway through this thing I thought there was no way. To top it off a week after I passed my check ride I was getting checked out at my local flying club to fly their airplanes, after landing the instructor said that he was very pleased with the flight and that I must have had a great instructor because I really knew my stuff. Havinglogged 0 hours prior to starting the program and having been grounded for several days due to bad weather, it truly is a testamentto the effectiveness and efficiencyof the AFIT program and Todds expertise that I was still able to become a licensed Private Pilot within a couple of weeks. Although the course was accelerated, I was not overwhelmed with the flight lessons and the curriculum created by Andy and Tony makes it easy for anyone to succeed.
